I'd tend to agree. Windows, when it works, usually just works and you don't need to worry about it any more. But for more complex things Windows doesn't give you the power you need over the computer. I'd pick Windows for almost any everyday application used by millions of people, and Linux for anything custom I need to create that likely will only be used by a handful of people.
